Portrait of Roy Morken

I'm Roy Morken. I started MondoTickets in 2016 and still run it from Stavanger, Norway. I'm a product manager with more than 30 years in the IT industry and several years of startup experience.

Where I have been

I spent a week climbing Kilimanjaro and made it to the top, 5,895 metres (19,341 feet) up. Tanzania got about six months of my life over three trips, living in the bush and visiting local people and tribes. One week-long safari took me through five parks, including the Serengeti, and I saw all of the Big Five.

I backpacked the east coast of Australia, up and down, for six months. In 2005 I went to Panama and stayed for two years. Today I fly six or more times a year on my own trips, and I know how a cheap ticket turns expensive once bags and fees are added, because it has happened to me.

I have not been to every place this site covers. My name on a guide does not mean I have made that trip.

How MondoTickets works

MondoTickets compares flight prices and passes hotel searches on to a partner. It does not sell tickets. You book on the partner's site, and we add no booking fee. The site earns a commission on some of the bookings made through those links.

Where the numbers come from

Our cheapest month study uses the Travelpayouts price feed: 59 routes, pulled on 10 July 2026. The study explains the method.
